Our Team
Mike & Liz
...are the Senior Pastor and Women's Pastor at Elim Christian Centre Dunedin. They have four children - Elley, Sam, Kate and Alexis. Mike has a science degree, teaching diploma, and graduate diploma in Theology and has been involved in ministry roles in the Church for over 15 years. Liz oversees Women's ministry and manages the growing family. Mike & Liz together with the team would like to extend a very warm welcome to everyone new to the Church.
Andrew Smith
...is the Associate Pastor at Elim Christian Centre Dunedin. He is married to Julie and they have three children, Emilyrose, Reuben and Timothy. Andrew has a Post Graduate Diploma in Social & Community Work and has worked as a Social Worker for a number of years in various fields. Andrew has been involved in different ministry roles with Elim Christian Centre since his conversion at age 15, including the Music department, which he currently leads. He also serves as an elder and oversees evangelism and missions. Julie is a trained Early Childhood teacher and currently home-schools their children.
Hon Chew Then
...is the International Pastor with his wife Hilda here at Elim Christian Centre. Together they oversee our International Service and Lifegroups. Then has experience in the education sector as well as fulfilling senior pastoral and eldership roles in churches in Malaysia and New Zealand. He makes the best Satay south of Kuching, and loves fishing.
Tor Kiore
...is our Children's Pastor. She is married to Quilla and they have four children - Jack, Maddy, Grace and Ben. Tor is a qualified teacher and has been involved in kid's ministry for over 10 years.
Benjamin Warwick
... is our Youth Pastor heading up Firebreed Ministries. He is a Husband to Lea and Father to Zion, Ariel & Seth. His favourite Bible verse is Revelation 19:11-16. "When I grow up I want to be the greatest dad in the universe / leader of the
most dangerous youth ministry ever / Author / Artist / Hacky Pro.
Rabena Kini
...is our Pacific & Student Pastor, overseeing these Lifegroup networks and our nite church service. Bena has served in many ministries for over 10 years. She has a B.Com, DipGrad and Masters from Otago University. She has led a lifegroup for 6 years, raising leaders and planting other groups.
Karen Scott
...manages our Finances and Administration. She is married to Gregory and has one daughter, Eve.
She is the financial administrator at Elim Christian Centre Dunedin.
She oversees a team dedicated of people who do a variety of jobs including data entry, banking, reporting, infodesk, audio cd production. She also provides the pastors and elders with financial and statistical reports to assist them in measuring and monitoring our effectiveness and stewardship.
Elders
The Elders of Dunedin City Elim are Peter Sara, Hon Chew Then, Andrew Smith, and Mike Griffiths. They are responsible for the oversight and direction of Elim Christian Centre Dunedin. They are chosen according to 1 Timothy 3:1-7 as people of standing in the church, respected and recognised as individuals of character, wisdom and faith.
